The Past and Future of Race in Medicine
As part of Stanford Medicine's "Building a Culture of Health Equity Monthly Lecture" series, the team presented "The Past and Future of Race in Medicine," detailing how race has been used in medicine.
2022 Health Equity Environmental Scan
The "2022 Health Equity Environmental Scan" assessed the progress of top U.S. healthcare systems toward achieving health equity for patients and communities. The scan reviewed inclusion practices of recruitment plans and IRB protocol for studies related to underserved minorities enrolled in clinical trials at SHC.
Health Equity/DEI Research Grant
We launched the Health Equity/DEI Research Grant. This funding opportunity for SHC employees supported innovative research projects to improve equity in research, care delivery, clinical practice, and workforce initiatives.
Design Sprint with BEAM Team members
Participants shared, ideated, and gathered feedback on "Bold Moves," which led to an advocacy-based staff Equity Award, a pilot mentorship program, and a New Employee Orientation amendment to promote and communicate staff resources.
